In research, low responses rates and dropout of participants can severely delay projects. In a study at Wageningen University where participants were periodically asked about their experiences, PocketQ helped gather timely and reliable responses. More than 87% of the 975 surveys received a response in time.
In consumer research by a British company, participants would consume a drink and subsequently receive questions after 5, 15, 30, and 60 minutes. The project was set up according to specifications within a few days. Data was collected with the company's Confirmit/Forsta survey tool, requiring no new training of IT staff. During evaluation, 91% of participants said they liked the app, and 96% found the push notifications helpful.
At Radboud UMC, PocketQ was used for Experience Sampling Method (ESM) or Ecological Momentary Assessment (EMA) research. Over multiple weeks, participants received questions about their emotional state, but also custom tests to assess working- and long-term memory. These tests (N-Back and Doors) were custom-built using the open source JSPsych library.
A consumer research company that had already built their own in-house websurvey software, decided to use PocketQ to deliver their surveys with push notification reminders. Reusing an existing app allowed them to skip the costly development process and reduce maintenance costs. The company's corporate identity was maintained by using PocketQ's branding features. Our API was used to integrate and automate the two systems.
